I don’t mind casual racism when it goes with my hipster lifestyle and political views on gender!
Dan Solomon is a “straight, white cisgender man” from Texas who has things to say about Women like Suzanne Moore and Julie Burchill who dare to (1) notice that transwomen are men and 2) have the guts to speak out about it.
Dan wants you to know that he’s got the backs of his fellow Men, err transwomen.
And he wants you to know why he takes transgender issues personally…
You might recall that last year, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force waited until the last possible moment to remember that L in NGLTF stands for Lesbians. As a result of pressure put on NGLTF by Lesbian activists, NGLTF begrudgingly allowed Lesbians to have our own caucus for actual lesbians (that is, women-born-women, not men who think they are women) – hence, the Lesbian Caucus was born.
What a difference a year makes, right? This year is going to be the year of the Lesbian resurgence. I mean, the Lesbian Caucus has a 600-woman strong Facebook group!
Here is the 152-page Creating Change Program. […]
Today is World Toilet Day and pictured above is Lines Napolo from Malawi. She told WaterAid that she has to use a toilet outside where sometimes men stare at her.
If you believe that no woman should have to face the Male Gaze while engaged in bodily functions, please share her photo and donate a Facebook status message and a tweet on Twitter here.
“1 in 3 women worldwide risk shame, disease, harassment and even attack because they have nowhere safe to go to the toilet. Sanitation would make 1.25 billion women’s lives safer and healthier.”
NGLTF used to recognize women-only space and didn’t actively and relentlessly seek to destroy it.
Trans activists have turned women-only space as something akin to Nazism or the KKK. […]
“Women have served all these centuries as looking-glasses possessing the magic and delicious power of reflecting the figure of a man at twice its natural size.”
– Virginia Woolf, A Room of One’s Own
Every four years, many of us get a pain in our side thinking about making the best of a bad situation to vote for the lesser of two evils in a United States Presidential Election.
LOOK! THE DEMOCRATS CARE!! THEY HAVE A NARRATIVE OF WHAT A WOMAN’S LIFE LOOKS LIKE!
Like many of us, I have gone back-and-forth on the issue of voting. In 1992, the first time I could vote in a presidential election, I voted for Lenora Fulani, the New Alliance Party candidate who famously heckled Bill Clinton – New Alliance has since been classified as a cult by the Anti-Defamation League (WHOOPS).
Yes, some Women say, the Democrats are “better” on Women’s Issues than the Republicans. Even though many Liberal Democrat men are pro-porn, pro-SlutWalk dickwads – we as Women make the calculation that some rights are better than no rights.
Recently, Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein whiffed on the question of men in women-only space.
Roseanne Barr, running as the Peace and Freedom Party presidential candidate along with Cindy Sheehan, did not whiff. Indeed, she is the only presidential candidate who has stood firmly for women’s space. Here is what she said when asked about this on Twitter by Radical Feminist activist Ann Tagonist:
Meet Peter Jenkins.
Peter is a Gay Go Getter profiled in the Louisiana version of that Examiner newspaper in May for his go-getterness. Peter wanted to attend a Victory Fund Training as a start to his dream of being the first openly-gay Louisiana legislator!
WHAT A GOOD GAY!
But it’s not just glory he seeks. Peter Jenkins is concerned about important issues.
Like destroying Women-only space. Like telling Women our sex – the very thing used against us – is a Social Construct. Helpful!
There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy.
A baby girl is born. It’s a girl! Pink! Baby Dolls! Dresses! Other Stuff! From this moment, the girl is groomed for life as a Heterosexual Woman. She is groomed for a life as a wife and servant for Men. She is groomed to want to have babies and raise the children of men. She is groomed for Compulsory Heterosexuality, the concept coined by Baltimore native and Radical Feminist Adrienne Rich that identifies heterosexuality as the agent that keeps Females from actualizing their full sexual and emotional capacities, an agent that denies a sexual way of being unrelated to Male pleasure – Lesbian sexuality.
All girls in our culture are groomed towards Compulsory Heterosexuality.
All of us. Including Lesbians. As Lesbians, we have been socialized since birth – like all Females – to be sexually accessible to Males. As Lesbians, many of us work for years with internalized self-hatred and misogyny before we finally are able to confront our sexual attractions and honor our sexuality. This is a long and – for many of us – a lifetime process, as we are constantly bombarded with cultural messages that Lesbian sexuality is wrong.
